Thanksgiving Joy

I arrived back from Seattle a couple of days ago where I spent a few days with my son JoeB and his 3 daughters. Thanksgiving dinner in his home was joyful -- he even prepared and served all the food. Quite nice! The highlight for me was when I was able to share an old Swedish song that my relatives used to sing many years ago in Minnesota. I put the verses of the song on paper, gave each of us a copy, and then played the song on a CD. The name of it is "Thanks to God for my Redeemer". Memories of simpler days gone by flooded into my soul as the song played -- my eyes filled with tears, but I don't think anyone else noticed. I think the song touched all of our hearts, even the girls -- at least it seemed so. One of the twins "sang" the song for us after dinner -- so sweet. We played games afterward, walked, talked, played with a new puppy that they had, and just generally had good family time. It is not usually the case that I get to spend the holidays with family. I have no family members in Idaho. So I enjoyed this celebration very much.
